description

“Les Vieilles Charrues” music festival is the most important musical event in France, and the second largest attendance among the European festivals. 270 000 people gather during 4 days in  the small town of Carhaix, 8 000 inhabitants.

A museum project is intended, to share this great atmosphere all along the year, and tell the local story of what became a national success.

We imagine an interactive exhibition that would give to experience the adventures of the festivalgoers and volunteers, the performance of rockstars, the know-how of the stage technicians. Different devices make the visitor feel the conditions of a real show. Few examples:

Inflame the crowd: in a joyful crowd simulator, you move 55,000 people that reproduce your gestures out of sight (motion capture). Slam machine allows to experience croud surfing for real by throwing yourself on hundreds of articulated hands. Augmented Karaoke: record a video singing a tube with the look of the singer stucked on your face, using augmented reality.

Many other pedagogical devices tell about physic of sound, make you aware of huge concert’s sound constraints and techniques, or let you play with music and instruments…
